The key to deck refinishing is choosing a product that is super easy to renew. No sanding, no power washing, just mop on new finish and you are done. We factory finish decking materials using Cutek Extreme and it is for this exact reason. Cutek Deck stain allows us to add color that enhances the natural hue of the wood and even add a fair bit of UV protection to the deck. But the biggest advantage of it is just how easy it is to renew the look to factory finished.
But as they say a picture is worth a thousand words so a video must be worth a million at least. Here is a deck that has weathered in full sun for a year and in about 40 minutes of work, 2 of us were able to bring the deck back to brand new.
We wanted to keep this as simple as possible and dish soap, a few brushes, and Cutek is all that was needed to return this Ipe deck to its original glory. Certainly Ipe is a robust decking wood, but the same results can be had with any other tropical decking species or even the modified decking woods like Thermal Ash or Pine. Remember deck refinishing should be easy.
