Wood Shutters come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles. The universal truth is that precision is an absolute must to ensure the smooth operability and longevity of shutters. Our architectural millwork division, ICD, applies 67 years of expertise to the details that transform a standard shutter into a truly custom solution.
Historic restoration work
Many of our clients live in historic homes where they are required to replace wood shutters with the same style. Many of these styles are no longer available with most shutter suppliers. We can provide complete historical matching for both style and species.

Shutter styles
For most non-historic match shutters, our two most popular styles are:
- Louver – Designed for ventilation and light control, lending a lighter, more open feel suited to coastal through contemporary architecture.
- Panel – A solid furniture-inspired form that adds visual weight and definition in formal, traditional, or clean-lined modern applications.
- Farmhouse – A rustic, heritage-driven style emphasizes character and texture for traditional and modern farmhouse styles

Wood Shutters Construction
Fixed shutters
Our fixed shutters are constructed using a mortise and tenon construction. We chose this because:
- Provides a seamless look with no visible fasteners.
- No rusting
- No staining from a fastener
- No water ingress points
- Proven to be the strongest joint.

Functional Shutters
We can also engineer operable louver slats for when you want:
- To adjust airflow and light control
- Reversible light direction
- Privacy control

Radius and Shutters
We engineer shutters that match the architecture – no matter how complex the opening. We don’t do any approximations; we fabricate true radius components that follow the geometry of the opening exactly.
Finishing options for Shutters
With 67 years of experience, we have worked with nearly every species and finish combo imaginable. We know that the right finish is what brings a shutter to life – highlighting grain, enhancing character, and ensuring long-term performance.
