Wooden Driveway Swing Gates
Large wooden driveway swing gates require more than great craftsmanship – they require proper engineering. Due to their size, weight, and frequent use, many driveway gates rely on integrated steel frameworks to provide the strength and stability needed for long-term performance.
At ICD, we build custom wooden driveway gates that combine structural integrity with the warmth and beauty of fine woodwork. Our team can design and build:
- Wood gates with concealed steel substructures
- Single or double-drive configurations
- Traditional, contemporary, or custom designs
- Gates for estates, private drives, and luxury residences
- Custom moldings, detailing, and architectural features
Whether you’re replicating a historic entrance or creating a one-of-a-kind design, our craftsmen have the experience and equipment to bring your vision to life. The result is a gate that delivers the strength demanding applications require while maintaining the appearance and character of premium architectural woodwork.

Construction Feature
Stagnant water is a wooden gate’s worst enemy. So, we design every component of our gates from the top down to naturally shed water. Preventing water stagnation, which can lead to rot and decay.
An example to the right shows a bottom gate rail (black), connected to vertical gate components (red). The slight slope incorporated in the top of the rail allows water to shed off and prevents water from pooling on top.

Finishing option
With 67 years of experience, we have worked with nearly every species and finish combo imaginable. We know that the right finish is what brings a shutter to life – highlighting grain, enhancing character, and ensuring long-term performance.
